A Fail OOTD and Simple FOTD

I haven't done this in ages! I can't really give you guys the best picture quality whenever I take FOTD and OOTD photos because I'm using a ghetto-ish camera. I should probably invest on a new one, so suggestions please? anyone?

Anyways, if you guys are wondering about my giveaway winner-WHY I HAVEN'T ANNOUNCE THE WINNER YET. It's because I'm really having a hard time choosing a winner. If I can just choose 3 winner, then that would be A LOT easier, so please bare with me as I decide who the winner of my giveaway is. Thank you so much for your patience.

Back to the topic..

Remember the Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges that everyone has? Well, I wasn't able to get them, but I told myself that I need to pay attention next time. So recently I purchase this Dolce Vita wedges at Target and they are the most comfortable wedges I own. If you live in the US, then please go to Target and purchase one. You can also do it online, but put in mind that they are a size bigger than usual, so I'm a 7, but got a 6. They only cost $39.99 by the way. What a deal right? Dolce Vita shoes cost around $150-$200, so grab one now before it's too late.
and..the fail OOTD.

Again, sorry if I don't have good quality pictures to offer you, but I will try to save money to get a new camera.

I know, it's simple, but I just went to the mall with some friends, so opted for something mall appropriate.

Tank- H&M
Off shoulder top- Forever 21
Leggings- Talula
Wedges- Dolce Vita for target
Necklace- Aldo

* I found this unique bracelet/necklace at the mall today. I will share them with you as soon as I have the time to take pictures of them.

And the SIMPLE FOTD

You guys know me right? I don't like wearing colors which I know I should try, but not that brave. Anyways, I didn't wear any mascara and foundation today. I'm trying to keep everything simple and that's my goal for spring- simple and fresh looking face.

I'm still using my "products of the week". I'm going to be using the same products until Sunday and then switch it up next week.

FACE:
- MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW 20
- MAC Natural Skinfinish in medium
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer
- MAC Coygirl blush
- NARS Copacabana illuminator

EYES:
- MAC painterly paintpot
- MAC Superslick liquid Liner
- MAC Eye Kohl in Stubborn(brown)
- E.L.F Saddle for lower lashline
- MAC eyeshadow in White frost for inner tear duct

LIPS:
- Carmex lipbalm
- MAC Shy Girl lipstick

Can I ask you guys to look at my hair :D? I've been using the John Freida 3- Day Straight spray and I'm happy to report that I've seen good results. I spray this first, then flip my hair and blow dry. I didn't even use a flat iron for almost a week now and my hair is still straight. Two thumbs up for John Fredia 3-Day Straight!

So, are you ready for SPRING? What are your spring essentials?

Have a lovely weekend :)

Haul: MAC, Benefit, and Tarte

Got few goodies from Sephora and a brush from MAC.

Okay I'll start of with MAC- I got MAC's 109 brush. I was looking for a good contour brush and this works perfectly. I will be doing a review on this brush next week.

so...

As you guys know, I finished my Laguna bronzer and I was in desperate need of a new one. A lot of people recommended Hoola by Benefit, and guess what? That's what I bought. Whoohoo! I'm actually loving it and using it every single day.

and...

While strolling around the store, I spotted these blushes by Tarte. They're called Amazonian Clay Long Wear blush. The shades are based on their Cheek Stain line. They used amazonian clay which apparently hydrates dry spots and absorbs greasy areas as well.
> Available exclusively in Sephora and online.
> They cost $25 in US and $33 in Canada.
> 12 hour wear
> Embossed leaf on the pan
> Comes in variety of shades.
> The compacts are color coordinated to match the blush inside
> Very pigmented

I bought 2 shades:
> Tipsy- matte coral
> Amused- matte baby pink
and...the swatch

Left: Tipsy
Right: Amused
swatch: not blended

Left: Amused
Right: Tipsy
swatch: blended
So, here's a no help photo of me wearing Amused blush
one more shot.
So what do you guys think of the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes? Will you be purchasing some of these blushers soon?
Have a good weekend!

Haul: MAC Blushes

Finally found the perfect red- base and mauve- base blushes!

wait, but first let me share what I was really suppose to purchase

these are my choices:
- Chanel: Soleil Tan De Chanel - bronzer
- Chanel: Black Pearl - polish
- NARS Taj Mahal - blush
- NARS Exhibit A - blush
- NARS Mykanos - eyeshadow

and..ended up with two MAC Blushes. I think I should have bought Black Pearl first since it is limited edition..well..I think it is LE. Is it?

so, here's my journey...

I went to The Bay(a department store in Canada Only) and, while strolling down the aisle of NARS, MAC, and Chanel(of course, they just had to be all in ONE aisle), I decided that I need a new blush.

I really wanted to purchase NARS Taj Mahal and Exhibit A- I know they are BRIGHT blushes, but they are just so pretty to look at and perfect for spring! NARS Blushes cost $29 here in Canada, plus tax and MAC blushes cost $24. So I ended up with MAC. NARS can wait.

About two days ago,I was watching old videos of lollipop26(whom I bet you all know) and she mentioned a limited edition blush called Stark Naked. She also mentioned that MAC has a close dupe from their permanent blush line called Coygirl. The only difference between these two blushes is that Stark Naked has more gold flecks while Coygirl is flat matte. I just know I needed this blush in my collection because I do not have anything similar to it. So, went to MAC to purchase Coygirl and ended up with another blush called Desert Rose.

Here are some photos of the blushes I bought.

This is Desert Rose.
and Coygirl
Both blushes side by side

(Desert Rose and Coygirl)

Hand swatches:

left: Desert Rose
right: Coygirl
I intentionally swiped then three times to how you the color and pigmentation of the blushes.
Left: Desert Rose(matte)- MAC is right with their description of this blush- "Soft Reddish- burgundy". Take note that this blush is matte, so no shimmer or what so ever. Perfect for everyday wear.

Right: Coygirl(sheertone)- Powdered rose with tiny bit of mauve undertone. I really like Coygirl because it such a subtle purple pink, perfect for winter and spring.

photo below: blended
Photo below: I took a photo of Desert Rose topped with MAC Stereo Rose. Sorry for such rubbish picture. It is damn hard to take a perfect face shot with my camera. I took over 50 face shots and this is the only decent photo. I promise to do a FOTD using these blushes soon. conclusion: I seriously need a new camera. :D

So what do you think about Desert Rose and Coygirl? what's yor favorite blush? share the love, people :)

It's finally friday tomorrow. Have a happy day

Holiday Makeup Look III- Pin Up

Why hello there ladies and gents How are ya'll doing?

How's your weekend so far? so far so good? or is this not your weekend?

Anyways, I'm back to share another Holiday Makeup Look part tres. Now, for this post I will be showing you a modern pin up look, but still has that 50's-60's edge to it.

Holiday parties is a good excuse to dress up and to slap lots of makeup on your face. For me, Holiday means sparkles, glitters, red, green, and golds(and all other color out there). Have you guys chosen your holiday outfit yet? I will be wearing a sparkling skirt or shorts(not sure yet). I will post a OOTD here when that day comes(Dec 24).

If you aren't aware yet, I will not be staying here in Vancouver for the Holidays. I will be on a vacation to visit my family and friends. So, I guess I won't be blogging that often. I will be away on December 15th till January 4th. So I'm just apologizing in advance if I won't be blogging that much on those days.

So, let's go back to the Holiday Makeup Look I'm talking about. Whether you want to dress up or dress down, be sophisticated or down to earth, a pin up look would be great with everything. So, this is why I decided to put up this look.

I hope you guys enjoy- I tried my best to create a modern Dita Von Tess look.

If you say Pin Up..this means..

- Face should be LIGHTER than usual(flawless)- I tried my best :D
- Upper lashline should be LINER HEAVY(black)
- Precise WING look
- Cheeks should be PINK
- Lips should be RED

So here's my Holiday Pin Up Look...

For the FACE:

-I used NARS Sheer Glow alone in Ceylon- I used this because this is a shade lighter than what I often use.
-For concealers- I used typical YSL Touche Eclat and MAC Select Moisture
-Then I applied MAC Natural Skin Finish in Medium- Applied all over face powder
- I applied MAC Pink Swoon(apply only on the apples of the cheeks in circular motion) then I used NARS Deep Throat(dabbed a tiny bit for an extra glow)
___________________________________
For the EYES:
- Eyeshadow base: MAC Painterly Paintpot- applied all over the lid up to the brow bone
- Then I used MAC Brule(for this step, you can use any beigey-nude, matte eyeshadow)- applied it all over lid. Then I used MAC Shroom for tear duct highlight. I then used MAC Cork for the crease(use a small amount of a light brown eyeshadow. You just want to enhance the crease)
- This is the most important part for this look- The HEAVY LINER and the WING at the end. I used Revlon Colorstay liquid liner(thicker than usual), then I created the wing look.
- For mascara- you need at least three coats of you favorite volumizing mascara and a lengthening one as well. For this look, I used L'oreal Volume Million mascara and topped of with YSL Faux Cils mascara.

*** didn't put any products for the lower lash line or water line.

_________________________________________
For the LIPS:

- Pin Up girl equals RED lips- now, for this look I do not have a matte red lipstick in my collection, but I just used any red toned lipstick I have. MAC Viva Glam Cyndi lipstick.

*** You can definitely make your lips more dramatic by using a matte red or a dark burgundy shade.

What's your take on a pin up look? Is it your style?

I think everyone can rock this look, whether or not you have a fair, medium, or dark skin tone. just make sure be glamorous and be the center of attention :) Have a lovely Christmas everyone. So now...I'm going to greet all my followers/reader a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you all for your support.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Sunday :)

A Purple Holiday Makeup Look

How's the Holiday shopping going? Are you guys done? 16 more days till Christmas.

WOW December is flying by quickly. Then, New Years is up next. What's your New Years resolution? I think mine will be spending wisely and do not buy A LOT of makeup. I'll TRY to persue this New Years resolution of mine.

Oh, I have a quick question...Are you guys going on a Holiday Vacation? or are you just staying home with your family and friends?

Last Week, I think that was a Saturday, my friends and I went Holiday shopping. I, personally do not like shopping with a lot of people. I prefer shopping alone because I can stay in one store for how many minutes, or hours(Sephora, H&M, Aritzia). If you're shopping with guys, do expect that they will rush you because they will for sure say "hurry up! you're taking hours to shop!" Don't you just hate that!? I DO!

Do you prefer shopping alone? or with a bunch of people? I guess I don't mind shopping with my mom/sister or with couple of friends.

Anyways, enough with the chit chat of what I did last weekend and lets go on with my FOTD. I guess this look can be worn during the Holiday right? well, I will :)

Here's my Purple Holiday makeup Look(nothing fancy)
I used couple of new products and loving them to pieces. Let me show them to you.
FOR EYES: I first applied MAC Painterly Paintpot(as eyeshadow base), then I used MAC Jest(for inner half), MAC Star Violet (for outer half), and tiny teeny amount of MAC Carbon eyeshadow(for outer V). I then applied MAC Superslick Liquid Liner in On The Hunt(upper lashline). Lastly, I used MAC Technakohl in Graph Black(waterline). For Mascara- I used YSL Faux Cils(2 coats)
FOR FACE: I first mixed my foundation- NARS Sheer Glow in Ceylon and MAC Face and Body in C3, then I applied concealer- YSL Touche Eclat(for undereyes) and MAC Select Moisture(for uneven shades on my face and for scars/zits). Then I used MAC Natural Skin Finish in Medium(for all over face powder)I then used my NARS Casino Bronzer for cheek/face contour, and applied NARS Deep Throat blush. Lastly, I used MAC By Candlelight for highlight(cheeks/nose) .
FOR LIPS: Simple and nude. Just the way I like it :)- I used MAC Hue lipstick and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Nude Lustre

The new products I used are the MAC eyeshadows(Jest and Star Viloet). I love them. I personally like Jest better compared to Star Violet just because I know I will be using Jest more often. Jest is SUPER SIMILAR to Naked Lunch, but it has more pink tone to it compared to Naked Lunch.

So what will you be sporting on Christmas eve or Christmas Parties(makeup wise)?

Happy Thursday :)

Face Combos of the Week + OOTD

so after 4 days of not blogging..

I think I owe you guys a post.

So here it is a face combo of the week post.

I will share with you what products I used and a lil OOTD. :)

Anyways..I recently got two YSL eye product. I finally got my hands on the ever famous mascara(Faux Cils) and brightening concealer (Touche Eclat).

here's the story..

Now, I went to The Bay(This is a department store in Canada) and when I was in the cosmetics floor, there were about 5 YSL sales associates ready to run in to me. I just hate it! I hate how two SA came rushing to me trying to get my attention. So, I have no choice and I feel bad if I ignore them. So, They were trying to sell YSL Touche Eclat in No. 8. I can't remember anyone on YT and on Blogs talking about Touche Eclat in no. 8. So, I asked the SA if I can try it on and she applied it on me. She said that the YSL Touche Eclat in no. 8 is the newest shade and it is limited edition too. This shade is best for ASIAN PEOPLE with yellow undertones.

So, if you have yellow undertones and wants the famous Touche Eclat by YSL. Go to a nearby YSL counter and ask if they have no. 8. I'm not sure, but I heard from a SA that this shade is exclusive ONLY IN VANCOUVER CANADA. Yes! because there are many Asians here in Vancouver. Don't take my word for it tho. Try asking a YSL SA.

So I purchased Touche Eclat and the wonderful, ever so generous YSL sales associate gave me $10 off the Touche Eclat so from $50 to $40 and...HOLD ON..she also gave me a free gift -Faux Cils FULL SIZE mascara! Thank god I went with her. :)

So, yay for having a new concealer and mascara.!!

Enough with the chit and chat and on with what really matters.

For the past couple of weeks, I kept my make-up on the down low. I haven't been applying any eyeshadow on my lids and no lipgloss as well. SHOCKING isn't it. I just hate the feeling of hair sticking on my lipgloss.

For the EYES:

YSL- Faux Cils Mascara
YSL- Touche Eclat Brightening Concealer
MAC- Superslick Liner in On The Hunt
MAC- Graphblack Technakohl

* I forgot to include MAC Shroom eyeshadow and Bare Study Paintpot*and for the FACE:

MAC- Face and Body foundation in C3
Revlon- Colorstay foundation in Sand beige
NARS- Casino BronzerMAC- Stereo Rose MSF on top of Madly
NARS- Madly Blush

* These two blushes are meant to be together. LOVE this cheek combo. I recommend you to try Stereo Rose with Madly! *

My face is totally shinning. I used MAC Shroom eyeshdow. I Think I used too much. YIKES.

and lastly..the LIPS:

MAC- Lady Bug lipstick
and on school days I just apply MAC Myth to mute out the redness of Lady Bug.Here's Lady Bug aloneAnd with Myth- now it's more pink and wearable.the outfit.

This is the first time I showed my outfit on this blog. So, do forgive me if the photos are not that nice.
What I wore:

Key Necklace- from a random vintage store in Steveston Village. So if you live in Vancouver go to Steveston Village. They have lots of key necklace. Good quality and it is only $25 :)
Blazer- Wilfred from Aritzia
Grey Tank- H&M
Leggings- Forever 21
Gold Watch- Michael Kors

*I just wore a boring plain flats*
