Nail Polish Collection and Favorite Polishes

You've seen my favorite lipsticks, now let me show you my favorite polishes and my nail polish collection.

If you know me you know that I change my nail color every 2-3 days. I know this isn't healthy for my nails, but I just have to do it.

I've been collecting nail polishes for over two years now, and it is still growing until now. I should probably ban myself from buying polishes, but I know I won't be able to do it. I can ban myself from not purchasing any lipgloss this year, which by the way I'm doing a GLOSSOUT 2011. If you are not familiar with this movement, it's simple you do not buy any lipgloss this year. I'm not doing a total lipgloss ban, but I will only buy FIVE lipgloss this year. Who's with me? Let's challenge ourselves shall we?

Okay, so enough blabbing about lipglosses and I'll show you my nail polish collection. Take note that I have been collecting these polishes for over 2 years and it is still expanding. Most of my collection consist of OPI polishes just because they are widely available here in Vancouver. Essie is a bit harder to find compared to OPI. I have some Revlon polishes too, and I must say that I'm really impress with the formulation and consistency of it.

So with out further a do here's my nail polish collection.

I probably have over 50 polishes, I know this is insane, but I can't stop myself from purchasing nail varnishes okay? :D

I will break down the brands that I own.
> OPI- chips after 2-3 days.
> Revlon- chips after 3 days.
> Essie- chips after 3-4 days.
> American Apparel- chips after 1- 2 days.
> Orly-chips after 2 days.
> Sally Hansen- chips after 3-4 days.
> China Glaze- chips after 2-3 days.
> E.L.F.- chips after 1 day.
> Deborah Lipmann- chips after3-4 days

I've been experimenting with them for a while now, and I conclude that OPI might have a wide range of colors and they are very easy to find(most salons carry OPI), but Essie, Deborah Lipmann, and Sally Hansen last longer and they don't chip until the 3rd or 4th day. This will not stop me from buying OPI's because I love the formulation and the wide brush it comes with.

I would not recommend getting E.L.F. polishes. I know they cost a dollar and we should not expect a lot from them, but I just won't bother buying more polishes from them. I love their makeup and brushes, but definitely not their polishes.

I will now be showing my top nail polish picks.
(photo above) Left to right: American Apparel Hunter, Revlon Stormy, OPI Metro Chic, Essie Mink Muffs, Essie Little Brown Dress, Sally Hansen Red Zin, OPI Vodka and Caviar, OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight, OPI Dating A Royal, OPI Strawberry Margarita

and..here are my favorite glitter polishes
from Left to Right: OPI Sparkalicious, OPI Mad as A Hatter, OPI Extra-va-ganza!, Deborah Lipmann Don't Tell Mama, Orly Rage, Sally Hansen Celeb City
I took these pictures a week ago, and you guys know I bought some polishes recently such as; OPI Teenage Dream, OPI Black Shatter, and OPI Simply Smashing. I would include these in my top polish picks.

So, now you know my favorite lipsticks and my favorite nail polishes. I think I will do my favorite lipglosses next. What do you think?

What's your favorite nail polish brand? I would love to try Rescue Beauty Lounge, Chanel, Zoya, Sinful Colors, and Butter London. Give me some recommendations if you have any.

Happy Tuesday.

Just One Coat...Done!

That's great to hear..one coat and done?

Us, nail polish junkies are always in a hunt for a polish that applies perfectly. We do not want thick, watery, hard to apply nail polish do we?

I just recently discovered American Apparel nail polishes. I know these polishes were released months ago, but I'm glad I bought them. Now, lets not assume that these guys are the "perfect" nail polishes out in the market. Of course, there are a lot of good brands in the market such as; OPI, Essie, Chanel, Revlon- you name it! Now, here comes American Apparel with such wonderful shades of nail varnishes. They have dark, pastel and neutral shades to satisfy their customers. They are indeed ready for fall, winter, spring, and summer. I said on my pevious post that I like Ameican Apparel polishes than OPI, or Essie(sometimes, you have to choose the right bottle because some are too thick and some are just too watery). I know That's a huge statement to say, but I really do. The quality is good because it is opaque with just one coat and it dries pretty fast. Do not get me wrong, of course I will still purchase other brands especially OPI because of the huge variety of shades to choose from, but for now I think Im okay with American Apparel :) I love cream finishes and that's what American Apparel did. I'm not really a fan of shimmers and glitters when it comes to nail polishes(except during Christmas!)

lets see what will happen in the near future with these polishes. I will let you guys know if it is REALLY the "PERFECT" brand of polish out there. American Apparel, you need to make variety of shades ASAP and expand your collection for us nail polish junkies, oh pretty please!

with this being said, here is Rose Bowl (American Apparel).

by the way, Im obsessed with these kinds of rings. A statement ring is the perfect way to create a bold look.
What is your absolute favorite brand of polish? Share the love, people :)
Thanks for reading!! :)
Have a lovely weekend, ladies.

Haul- American Apparel Polishes

Hi ladies,

As you all know, I recently got these three polishes from Shoppers Drugmart and posted it before this one. I promised to do a nail swatch for these babies, so here they are:
Revlon Jaded, Revlon Stormy, and Sally Hansen Red-Zin

Red-Zin, Stormy, and Jaded (Taken inside)
Taken outside

Stormy and Red-Zin are amazing.
Jaded, not so much because it is too watery.

There you go, you guys saw my drugstore nail polishes. I know a lot of you are still waiting for my drugstore lipstick swatches, unfortunately my lips got wacked! Im serious! it was bleeding like crazy yesterday(hit my dresser) :( So, I have to say sorry for those of you who are waiting for my lip swatches. Maybe, nest week? I promise, I will do my best to treat my wounded lip. :)

on the bright side..

American Apparel polishes! *big little girl's smile*

So, here comes the review:

American Apparel launched 18 colors of cream nail varnishes . I only got 6 out of the 18, but I will gladly review each of them. I must say, American Apparel didn't play safe with the colors they made. They have a lot of blues, greens, and pinks in their collection, but they did a pretty amazing job with these polishes.
L-R: Berry, Hunter, Peacock, Rose Bowl, Factory Grey, and Dynasty

--> Sleek packaging! These polishes can save you some space.
--> They retail for only CAD$ 7.50! They are even cheaper than Revlon or Sally Hansen-even OPI and Essie
--> Cream finishes
--> The formula is good-not thick or watery. Just right! :)
--> Opaque and only need one coat
--> Dries pretty fast, but then again you still need to put top coat on it.

Swatches:
- take note that I have acrylics on.

Berry, Hunter, and Peacock (taken inside the house)- I'M GETTING READY FOR FALL :D
Berry, Hunter, and Peacock(Taken outside the house)

Berry(Cream)- Is a deep berry shade that goes on opaque in just one coat! Perfect!

Hunter(Cream)- this is my favorite out of the bunch. It is a deep hunter green that also, goes on opaque with just one coat.

Peacock(Cream)- Is a warm toned deep blue. This actually reminds of a peacock. :) This also, goes on opaque with just one coat, but I applied two coats on this one.
Rose Bowl, Factory Grey, and Dynasty(Taken inside)

Rose Bowl, Factory Grey, and Dynasty(Taken outside)

Rose Bowl(Cream)- This is a yellow-based pink. This reminds me of China Glaze Peachy Keen, but better-way better!!. It is a dream to apply, and again opaque in just one coat.

Factory Grey(Cream)- this shade has a tiny bit of blue undertone and opaque in just two coats. This is in the same family as Metro Chic and You Don't Know Jacques, but less purple undertone and more blue.

Dynasty(Cream)- Dynasty is a mid-toned mauve cream. This shade reminds me of Essie's Splash of Grenadine. Again, cream finish and opaque in just one coat.

ALL IN ALL- They did an AMAZING job! Two thumbs up for American Apparel. Majority ofIthem applies on perfectly. I think I like the formula of these better compared to OPI and Essie-that's a huge statement. Then again, I only got 6 out of 18. I know Butter- the pale yellow shade and Conney Island- the light neutral shade in this collection are a bit streaky and hard to apply.

Thanks for reading.
