Products I Regret Buying 2.0- Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads

Im back with another "Products I Regret Buying" post.

I will be talking about the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads.

I first heard this in a Youtube video from a couple of make-up gurus(I forgot who they are), and they said that they used this to remove their makeup at night and it works really well. Remember last year, when I went down to Seattle and when I was there I went to Target and was looking for the Neutrogena wipes(blue), but whilst browsing the aisle I found this Aveeno Cleansing Pads. Everytime I buy something beauty wise, I first check reviews on the web just to make sure. I got suckered in by the "Allure" red tag. I always get suckered in by anything with that red "Allure" tag because I want to purchase a product that did work for a lot of people. I love Aveeno because they use natural ingredients, but somehow this didn't work out for me.

here's what they say about the product:

"These dual- textured cleansing pads, moistened with foaming skin- conditioning cleansing and natural soy, help even out skin tone and texture for brighter , naturally radiant skin. The pad is smooth on one side to lift away dirt, oil, and makeup and textured on the other side to gently exfoliate and smooth away dry patches. Oil- free, soap- free, noncomodogenic and hypoallergenic, these pads are gentle enough for everyday use, even on sensitive skin."

key phrases: dual- cleansing pads, even out skin tone, takes away makeup, dirt, and oil, gently exfoliate, everyday use, sensitive skin. These phrases just made me want it more.

When I got home I used this to remove my face make-up. After the first use, I immediately felt DRY SKIN which is NO GOOD. I tried it again after two days, still my skin felt drier than ever. I stoped using this and just set it aside, good thing it worked for my sister(she has oilier skin). This product may work for some people, but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. Good thing I bought back-ups for my Neutrogena wipes because I LOVE that product.

here are some photos of the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads

PROS:
- inexpensive
- nice packaging
- dual side- one smooth, other side rough
- smells good

CONS
- made my skin dry
- got break outs

There might be more PROs than CONs, but I will not repurchase this product and stick with my ever dependable Neutrogena wipes
NOTE: This might work for other people with oily/normal skin, but it didn't work for me(dry skin/sensitive skin)

So, here's my question, what do you use to remove away dirt, oil, and makeup? Share them with us.

Happy Tuesday

Kim

  1. I recently tried buying some Equate (noname) makeup remover cloths, but they were all dry and didn't have enough moisture to properly remove the foundation. So now I just use my Clinique clanser and clean and clear eye makeup remover, and it works well. =)

  4. i use a warm wash cloth, allmay eye make up remover pads and then sometimes cetaphil to rinse off the rest. may not be the greatest way, but it works for me :)
biore also makes those make up remover wipes. as well as other brands.
since you have dry skin, maybe you use those pads every few day?

  7. It seems like forever sense I've been on blogger. Can't wait to catch up on your post now for your question I use a cleansing oil to remove all my makeup. Then I use Philosophy Purity cleanser, after that I use a some cleansing pads just for breakout purposes. I never have makeup residue after the face wash. I'm seriously in love with cleansing oil, completely gets rid of all my makeup.
