A Bright Lip Well..ish

Fall=bold lips

Right?

Come on! pucker up those luscious lips with bright lipsticks for fall.

Don't be scared, besides it's "in" for this season

I'm so excited to put on bright lipsticks for fall/winter because I can just go out with a simple eye make-up and bold bright lips.

I really think that every make-up junkie should own at least THREE red lipsticks. One with blue tones, pink tones, and well..I call it a neutral red. There are a lot of nice red lipsticks, but I just had to go to MAC and find a perfect red shade for me.

So, without further ado..

Everyone, meet Lustering and Cockney. They are both in the lustre family.

YES! I went with lustre finish because I can't pull off an amplified or matte red. Those finishes will just be so "in your face" when I wear them.

Hey, I stick to where I'm comfortable with okay?

here are the lipsticks I'm talking about.

Photo below- Lustering and Cockney
Swatches below: Left-Cockney and right: Lustering
First up, MAC Cockney(Lustre)

I don't know where they got the name, but it's indeed a beautiful shade.

I can only describe Cockney as a true red with blue undertones. The texture is nice and glides on your lips smoothly. It also has a small bit of shine. I consider this to be a great starter shade for red beginners or for someone looking for a really subdued color.
Forgive the childish pose..
and then there's MAC Lustering..

I first heard this from Laura(lollipop26) love her so much, obviously that's why I bought this. Anyways, Laura was right, it is a sheer watermelon shade. This shade did not really show up nicely on my lips, but I can totally layer it with something else. I still love this shade and It is work appropriate too.

here's a lip swatch of MAC Lustering

And..the same post :)
so..are you guys diggin' these bright-ish lipsticks? I'am!! :)

enjoy the week:)

Combinations I'm Loving Right Now

I have been experimenting with make-up products that I have.

I want to share my favorite combinations for face, eyes, and lips. I was thinking of doing it separately- face combination in one post, lips in one post, and eyes in a different post, but I think it will be easier for me to show it all together. I have so many beauty products that I want to share with you, but for now this is what I have in mind.

If you are a follower and a reader of my blog, you will know that my least favorite beauty product is mascara. I know it's a shocker, but I'm just not a big fan a mascaras of any kind. I can't go out with out eyeliner, blush, bronzer, lipstick, and lipgloss, but surprisingly I can show myself without mascara. Now, I'm trying to wear mascara as often as I can, so I can learn to love it. I just bought Diorshow Extase and Cover Girl Lash Blast a week ago to wear and experiment. I realized that mascaras can make a big difference to your eyes- it makes my eyes bigger and more awake.

anyways..

I'm going to show what beauty product combinations I'm loving right now.

First, the FACE
MAC By Candlelight MSF- highlight cheek bones

MAC Stereo Rose MSF- as a blush on top of NARS Madly

NARS Madly- I'm IN LOVE WITH THIS! Used it as a blush under Stereo Rose

NARS Laguna- used it as a bronzer all over the face. (the other shade in the pan is Orgasm Blush which I did not use)

and..show those cheek bones! :)

next..LIPS
Smashbox Pout lipgloss- I have been using this gloss for a week non stop. I had this in my stash for a long time but didn't get a chance to use it often.

MAC Angel Lipstick- everyone needs this pink lipstick and I bet everyone has this already.

Lastly..the EYES

Cover Girl Lash Blast- I use this first to help lengthen my lashes. For me, this doesn't work in terms of volumizing my lashes.

Diorshow Extase - I use this on top of Lash Blast because it gives more drama to the eyes with a little bit of volume here and there. This mascara is great if worn alone it lengthens and volumizes at the same time.

*no eyeshadows and eyeliner on this picture. I'm trying bare eyes with just mascara on. I must say, I like it. :)

What are your fave combinations at the moment? Share it with us :)

Have a lovely Wednesday everyone :)

hugs, kim

Review: MAC Lipgelees. A Small Clothing Haul

Hi everyone!

Today's post will be a very straight forward one. A review and a clothing haul.

I shopped for new clothes! I went shopping with a friend and bought a few clothes for summer. For this season, Im obsessed with bright colors- corals, yellows, tuqiouse, etc. For some reason these colours really attracts me. The clothes that I bought are simple ones, because Im not really a fan of graphic tees, or those overly designed tops that if I wear it twice a week people will instantly know that I wore it at least once. I want those plain ones that I can wear maybe twice in two weeks or something.
Baby pink top- I super love this top and the color is very flattering. It really looks good with almost everything- shorts, jeans, or even leggings. I would not wear this with any high waisted skirts or shorts.
Floral top- It is floral, I love the color combination on this top. I can't say anything bad about it. It has a silky material.
Coral oversized top- This is my favourite! I have this one in a turquiose one too. One of my fav tops this summer.

MAC
A review about MAC lipgelees. I thought about this for a long time if I should do a review or not because they are limited editions. Im sorry if you guys cant find these anymore, but I just want to share my thoughts and opinions on these beauties.

MAC Lipgelees:

From Left to Right: Resort Life, Lush & Bright, Preppy, and Shift to Pink

They were released last February - MAC in Lilyland collection. This collection is definitely a bright and colorful one. This collection definitely caught my eyes instantly.I will concentrate on the lipgelees. They sold 4 lipgelees in this collection namely: Lush & Bright, Preppy, Shift to Pink, and Resort Life.
Lush & Bright and Preppy Swatch
What do you guys think of the pigmentation? Isn't it lovely? they're bright! Thats all I can say =)
- Lush & Bright- bright pink yellow coral with pink pearl
- Preppy- Blue pink with pink pearl
- Shift to Pink- Light violet with silver pearl
- Resort Life- off- white with pink pearl

--> I have Lush & Bright and Preppy. If you guys see these lipgelees in your local MAC counter you guys should NOT think twice and grab it. Its perfect! I bet there are still some left in some MAC counters near you. I would recommend to ask your make-up artist if they have Lilyland left. The pigmentation of these lipgelees are awesome, the color is gorgeous, but the down side of this are the glitters or should I say the pearly finish of it is well.. too overwhelming and too out there. I don't have any problems with this mainly because I just dab this product on my lips. I don't put too much because my lips will look like a disco ball. When the color wears off the glitters won't stay on your lips.

Do you guys own MAC lipgelees? I think they are being discontinued already.

What brushes I use and a recent lipstick pruchase

Hi ladies!

So for the past 2 days I've been really into reading all the comments and blog posts for my contest by my lovely followers. I really am enjoying hosting this contest. I think I will be hosting one again anytime soon. prizes will be even better. Probably when I reach 400? or 500. I would just want to share what people mostly answered for my contest entry. The contest is not ending yet, it wouldn't hurt to share to you guys what they wrote.

So I asked about what is the LEAST important products for you guys and most of you answered a face primer and false eyelashes. I would agree with them because I don't really use false eyelashes just because I only use them when there is a special occassion.

so this post is meant to show what brushes I use for my face and eyes . I'll share my favourite brushes and will explain each one of them.

Here are the brushes I use for my face and eyes.

-The first one on the left is the Sephora # 41 Round Powder Brush- This brush is HUGE! probably a size of a tennis ball. I use this all over my face and neck as well with my MSF and bronzer. I really recommend this brush. This is my absolute favorite Sephora brush. $36

-Sephora platinum air brush # 55- I saw a lot of good reviews with this brush, so I went to Sephora and got it. I believe it retails for $34. This brush is used for liquid foundations and it really works well, blends the foundation properly, and gives an air brush finish. I use this brush for my NARS sheer glow and Revlon Photoready foundation and it works well. I won't recommend using this for thick foundations. The Sheer Glow and Photoready is quite runny so it works really well with it, but I won't recommend using this brush for MAC foundations. That's just my opinion, but let me know how it works for thicker foundations tho.
- ELF Powder brush- I mainly use this for contouring my cheek bones with my bronzer. I really love this brush and it retails for just $3. Isn't that lovely? It's really hard to find a cheap brush that really works well. I also use this one for blush application. I need to place an order for one more because I really love it. I need two of these haha.

- ELF complexion brush- This one retails for $3 as well. I use this for contouring as well. I like this, but I don;t love it as much I do with the Powder brush on top.

- Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher brush- this brush retails for $14.00. It's meant to be used for blushes and it works really well, but be careful because the hair on this brush is packed so be very light handed. This brush picks up a lot of products, so do not forget to tap off excess powder. I expected this brush to be bigger, but it turns out to be a size of a quarter.

A MAC Lipstick- Hue (Glaze)

- MAC 239 Eyes Shading brush- I bet you guys have seen this everywhere. This retails for CND $29.00  pretty expensive, but worth every penny. Honestly, this is by far my favourite eyeshadow brush. I use this for putting eyeshadow on my lid and it helps the eyeshadow blend really well.

-MAC 219 Pencil Brush-  this brush retails for CND$ 27.50, again pricey, but worth the price I paid. I mainly use this for detailed work on my outer V and on my crease as well. I also use this for lining my lower lashline with an eyeshadow.

-MAC 217 Blending Brush - the name says it all. This brush is used for blending eyeshadows. Price for this is CND$27.00. That's all I can say.

-I would recommend these 3 brushes from MAC. Invest on a nice brush.-

I bought Hue!!

I bought a MAC lipstick in Hue(Glaze)
-I have been eyeing on this particular lipstick for a long time. It's about time to give it a try. I expected this lipstick to be very sheer, but it's not. It is pigmented, but not as pgimented as creamsheens. This would be a very toned down nude lippie. I can definitely wear this alone or with a gloss on top. I would describe it as a peachy nude with slight pink undertone and has a glossy finish to it. I predict that this will be my go-to-lipstick. Very satisfied with my purchase. Im a happy camper now.

My next post will be my favourite foundation. Watch out for that one. I would probably post it tomorrow.

What are your favourite brushes? comment below.

Thanks for reading!
