Haul: MAC Quite Cute

A little bit late, but...

Here's a haul from the MAC Quite Cute collection last week.

At first I thought I would LOVE this collection, but when I saw it in person it wasn't what I thought it will be. Yeah, this collection has a pastel theme to it, the names are cute and the shades are absolutely gorgeous, but the quality and pigmentation is...how do I say this in a good way? uh...cheap and disappointing a little bit.

Last Thursday(April 7) I rushed to my nearest MAC counter and my mind was already set that I will be spending around $100-$120. Initially, I bought six products from this collection(2 plushglasses, 2 lipsticks, and 2 mineralized blush), but when I swatched the mineralized blush and tried it on, it was chalky and really powdery. So I got to do what I got to do..RETURN! So, I'm here, left with four products and spent less than a bill.
 I got:

Lipsticks:

> Playing Koi-  creamy white peach with a hint of pink(Satin)
- Love the color, but not really a fan of the look on my lips. Very drying and you can really see the flaws on your lips. I still need to learn how to wear this without looking like I never applied lipbalm on my lips.
> Candy Yum-Yum- Bright neon pink(Matte)
- This is my favorite of the bunch, doesn't look matte though and it is creamier than Playing Koi. When will I be able to wear this? I don't know, but I will eventually. :D

Plushglass: If you are not familiar with MAC's Plushglass, then I will explain it to you. They are marketed to give you plump lips. I don't think it works though :|

> Girl loves- Creamy pink with blue undertones
Love you- Creamy lilac
* I really have nothing to say about these plushglasses, but they are sheer and I really like them (I like the tingle okay?).

Photo below: Candy Yum Yum and Playing Koi

Photo Below: I Love you and Girl Loves Boy

* In conclusion, I have something to say to MAC:
PLEASE step up your game and don't release a new collection twice or thrice a month. Release a collection maybe once a month with good quality products, no more chalky/powdery blushes and uber sheer eyeshadows .

Thank you.

Thoughts? What did you get from this collection?

MAC Quite Cute collection

Quite Cute I must say

Did you come here cuz you thought this is a haul? It isn't. Sorry, but I will be sharing with you what I will be gettng on Thursday when MAC Quite Cute collection launches. Being a makeup junkie isnt easy, not easy at all. You ask why? well... simple. It's not good for the bank account. Who agrees with me? I bet you all do because it's really hard to control the need of new makeup, especially when everyones talking about them.

The promo picture is stunning and quite(there's that word again) unique and preppy. When I first saw the photos of this collection from Temptalia.com, I got giddy and excited and told myself that this will be the ONLY collection I will purchase for the month of APRIL. I do want to get some YSL and the new Channel Coco Rouge Shine lipsticks, but no! I need to stop the temptation.

So I will try to budget and choose wisely.

You can find out more about this collection from Temptalia.com- the best source for us makeup junkies!

What I'm getting from this collection:

Lipsticks (CAD $17.50)
> Candy Yum Yum- Neon Pink(matte) - Do I need this? Yes, but I'm not sure if I have the courage to wear it. Im not sure if I will purchase this though. Might need a little persuasion :D
> Playing Koi- Creamy white peach pink (satin) - Do I need this? oh YES! Yes indeed. Im sure about this product. I will purchase this 100%

Plushglass(CAD $22.00)
> Girl Loves - bright blue pink - I'm currently doing LipglossOUT 2011, but I might purchase one plushglass. Can't say no to plushglass because it is my favorite formula out of the three MAC glosses

Lip Pencil (CAD $15.50)
> Naked- neutral - I don't own ANY lip pencil NONE! This will be my first one.

Mineralized Blush( CAD $27.50)
> Giggly- light pink with a lavender heart - Im not sure about this, I'm not a huge fan of the little heart design in the middle, but I do like the shade, so I'll be checking this out in person first.

Nail Polish(CAD $17.00)
> Mischievous- creamy mint - Do I need this? I have tons of creamy mint polishes. I will see it in person first.

So my total will be around CAD $120, but If I don't get the mineralized blush and the nail polish it will be around CAD $75 PLUS TAX! I gotta think think think!

I will update you guys on thursday when I post the haul.

Will you be getting anything from the MAC Quite Cute collection?

Have a great monday

Haul: MAC(Wonder Woman) and some other stuffs

Hey everyone

Are you guys tired of me hauling?

Well, I just went to MAC and got ONE product from the Wonder Woman, some permanent MAC items, and 2 lipbalms from the drugstore.

I won't blab about useless stuffs and I'll go ahead and talk about what I bought.

I'll start off with MAC- well..let me just say that the packaging of the Wonder Woman collection screams: CHILDISH. I know some of you guys like the packaging, but not me. Ironically I bought one blush and that's MAC Mighty Aphrodite. I thought I would like the MSF's, but nah it's HUGE! Could you imagine someone bringing a big lip gloss and MSF in public and applying it on their lips/face? Just saying :D

anyways here are some photos of the items I bought:
MAC:
> Mighty Aphrodite blush
> Melba Blush
> Superslick Liquid Liners(permanent) in On The Hunt and Defiantly Feline
> Studio Concealer- NW 20

DRUSGTORE:
> Nivea Lip Balms

MAC Mighty Aphrodite:

I'm glad I bought this blush. It recmind me of MAC's Ripe Peach from their Spring 2010 collection.

Melba is a super pigmented neutral peach blushI would definitely recommend MAC's Superslick Liquid Liners

These are actually my second tubes and I love them to bits. Did you purchase anything from Wonder Woman collection? What do you guys think of it?

Have a happy weekend!

Haul: MAC Holiday Collection- A Tartan Tale

Ahh... the much awaited holiday collection from MAC- A Tartan Tale.

What can I say about this collection?

When I first saw it at Temptalia.com, I wasn't really interested or excited with this collection. Well, okay I was eyeing on the lip products, but not the kits/paettes. I was just suppose to get one lipstick and one Dazzleglass Creme from this collection, but ended up with six products when I left the store.

I went to a nearby mall around 3pm today(Thursday) and saw the packaging(bags)- IT IS GORGEOUS!!! I wish they can sell the packaging(bags) alone, and I will for sure get probably two of those. I love the Scottish-inspired design.

I didn't purchase any palettes/kits. I like the nude palette called Dashing Lassies, but I skipped it because I have three of the shadows included in it. I have Showstopper, Buckwheat, and Bronze, so it will be a waste if I get this. However, recommendations are welcome. So if you guys got your hands on the kits included in this collection and you LOVED it. Don't forget to tell me :) Thanks

So let's go on with the haul shall we?

I'll start off with the lipsticks:

Cut A Caper- is an opaque creamy peachy- coral. I thought this would be similar with Jazz, but this is lighter and I would actually consider this as a nude lipstick
lip swatch
Full Fuchsia- bright fuchsia with distinct blue undertones. If you do not want bright bold lipstick with blue undertones then stay away fro this lipstick.

I'm pretty sure I won't wear this on its own. I will pair this with a NUDE lipstick such as; Myth or Creme D Nude.
lip swatch
full face shot- excuse the super pale face, but hey at least you guys know how BRIGHT this lipstick is.
and a hand swatch for both lipstick:

Left: Cut A Caper
Right: Full Fuchsia
Another lip product that I was attracted to is this Dazzleglass Creme called Gone Romancin'

I wanted to grab Passing Fancy(the orange/peach with slight gold shimmers) one, but it was too sheer when I swatched it on my lips.

here are some photos of Gone Romancin'- an opaque lilac with white/lilac shimmers. This appeared more pink than lilac on my lips.
lip swatch
hand swatch
Now for the Pearglide Eyeliners which was a repromote fro the recent Art Supplies collection.

I will describe them as best as I can!

okay! here I go

Black Swan- Black with gray shimmers
Lord It Up- Dark brown with subtle sliver shimmers
Petrol Blue- Deep blue with subtle silver shimmers

top-bottom: Petrol Blue, Lord it Up, and Black Line Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner
Hand swatches:

End of haul.

Have you guys seen the MAC tartan Tale collection? What did you guys get from the Holiday collection? link them up, PERHAPS I can buy more :D

have a nice weekend!

Haul: Tiny Teeny MAC Venomous Villain Purchases

I did not like this collection.

So you ask why do I have a haul? well, I bought two items from this collection not because of the packaging, but because they are pretty and I know I will use them a lot. I will immediately depot it! like NOW!

So here's the thing..

I woke up early this morning, as in 9:00 am and went to a near by mall to purchase some new products from MAC. Yes! you guys all know that the MAC Venomous Villain officially launched today- September 30(Thursday). I wasn't able to go the the event earlier(a week ago) because I went to a friend's birthday party.

anyways..

I went to my MAC store and saw posters of the Disney Villains- Cruella De Vil and Malicent posted on the door. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to this. The new products were neatly placed in front of the counter, so customers can see them at once(and it can also attract people passing by).

I know there are a lot of people who find the packaging childish and just blah(like me) and I also, know a lot who find it pretty and cute.

I find that the boxes- as in the sketch of the characters outside are prettier than what is inside. I just had a few products on mind and they were- Strange Potion lipglass, Darkly My dear blush, Innocence Beware! lipstick(yes! that exclamation point is included! grrr), Mean and Green nail polish, Fermidable nail polish, and Bite of an Apple Blush.

I know, I know that's a lot, but trust me it isn't because I didn't like majority of those items I listed down and ended up with only 2 items. I technically bought 3 items, but I returned 1 of the 3 right away.

Can I hear a "good job Kim!!" :)

so without further ado, here they are..

MAC Strange Potion lipglass- I just know this lipglass will be a big seller along with Innocence Beware! lipstick.I didn't purchase the lipstick because It is very similar to Hue and Creme D' Nude. Strange Potion lipglass is very similar to Pink Flamingo and Pink Lemonade from their permanent collection. I have both, but I just had to have this one too. Strange potion has more orange tones to it compared to Pink lemonade and Pink Flamingo. It has micro shimmers, but it is very creamy and pigmented.
Darkly My Dear Blush- a muted dirty mauvey-pink. This shade reminds me of Penny lane, but more mauve than pink. This shade will look nice on any skin tones. The blush is pigmented enough, so a light hand is needed when you applying this blush
This is the outside box I'm talking about. I wish they put this design on the pot instead of the character's faces.
Formidable! nail polish- So this is the item I returned. I know this is sold out online, but the shade is not for me. The bottle is stunning because of the multi-dimensional pearl(purple, red, blue, pink) and it is shimmery too. I bought this because the bottle looks gorgeous, but when i got home and swatch this nail varnish on my nails it's FLAT, as in you can't see the holographic effects of it. This is a big disappointment. I actually even went outside(under the sun) to see if it will look nicer with natural light, but unfortunately it wasn't and still look flat!

I returned it immediately after I swatched it!

Maybe you will like this polish, so tell me if you did maybe a little persuasion might work for me and I might just repurchase this again! :)
It looks nice in this photo, but in person it's not! :(

So did you guys purchase anything from the new MA collection that everyone was waiting for? Were you excited for it, or not? share your thoughts and opinions to us :)

Have a lovely day guys :)

MAC Fabulous Feline Collection- Superslick Liquid Liner

Came back from my trip to Seattle...AGAIN! Lovin Seattle a lot and of course I bought new beauty products as well- NYC Blushable Cream Sticks, CG lipslicks Lip Balm, NARS, etc. I will be doing a haul and review for these separately.

I will first review MAC.

As you all know MAC Fabulous Feline was Launched yesterday (August 26, Thursday). I wasn't too excited and hyped out about it. I know the collection is huge and it can be a bit overwhelming, but thank god I controlled myself. I didn't really want any eyeshadow, lipsticks, lipglosses and brushes, but I was interested about the Superslick Liquid Liner that was released with this collection.

I was not interested with the lip products just because they are too shimmery for me and the colors are out of my comfort zone. I was suppose to get Of Royalty lipstick(baby pink cremesheen finish), but decided to say NO to it. I think this lipstick is very dupable and I have tons of pink lipsticks already. There are tons of shades to choose from, but I just skipped them. The lipglosses didn't wow me and the eyeshadow quads are too sheer and wasn't pigmented. I might come back for the pigments though and purchase more liners? maybe the navy and the gunmetal shade.

MAC Fabulous Feline released nine shades of superslick liquid liners and it comes in variety of colors namely:

Desires and Devices- light gold
Treat Me Nice-dark green
Defiantly Feline- Dark brown
Nocturnal- Silver
Smoky Heir- Dark plum
Signature Blue- Navy
Pure Show- True gold
On The Hunt- Black
Marked for Glamour- Gunmetal

I got two out of the nine- I got Defiantly Feline(dark brown) and On the Hunt(black).

The superslick liquid liner is very easy to use because it has a felt tip applicator. You can do a very thin line with a light hand, but you can darken it as well. The formula is a bit watery, but still it is easy to move the wand. These liners last a long time as well and it doesn't smudge after you apply it on your lids. You just need to wait for about 30-60 seconds to dry. When it is time to remove your eye make-up, these superslick liners can be removed with a facial wipe. I used Neutrogena facial wipes to remove it.

Defiantly Feline- is a dark brown with gold shimmers. When you swatch it on your hand it will look dark, but once applied on the lids it becomes a little lighter which I like. I need some brown liners.

On the Hunt- Dark black with a glossy finish, but once dry you won't really notice the shine.

and I just wanted to add that Graphblack Technakohl Liner. I proclaim my love for this because I repurchase this particular liner over and over again. This is my fifth already. I use this on my lower lash line and water line as well and smudge it a little bit.

Sorry if the eye swatches are a bit messy. I was in a hurry to go out.

Defiantly Feline on the left and In the Hunt on the right
With flash... The far left is the Technakohl in Graphblack
First up is On the Hunt superslick liquid liner
Then..Defiantly Feline
Did anyone purchase the F/W Nail trend from MAC? What are you recommendations?

What do you guys think? Will you be purchasing these liners from the newest MAC collection? or skip it and save your money for other fall/winter collection.

xoxo, Kim
