This is Annoying...

SUNSPOTS!

Sun spots, also known as liver spots or age spots, are the result of long-term exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays. These flat, brownish patches appear on areas of the body most often exposed to the sun – especially the face, hands, and arms.

These discolorations are not cancerous and don't cause negative effects on your skin health. If you neglect sunscreen or have neglected sunscreen in the past, chances are you have a few of these sun spots on your skin.

damn that's true!

I neglected using sunscreen before, but my mom forced me to apply sunscreen everytime I go under the sun. I used to have an impression that if I apply sunscreen on my skin I won't get dark, but of course I was wrong. Sunscreen really helps protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. You just need to choose the right one for you. Don't forget to choose a sunscreen with SPF 30 and above.

This is the left side of my face. Those are the sun spots I'm talking about. Now, I have them on the right side of my face as well. I know they are not THAT bad because they are not all over my face, but I really want them to lighten up. Yes, I use foundation to cover them up, but sometimes I do not want to apply foundation and just leave with natural looking face. My dermatologist told me that I can't eliminate them anymore, but I can still prevent them to multiply.

Now, this is where I need your help and recommendations.

Do you guys know any face product that will help lighten up sun spots? I would really appreciate if you guys can help me out with this :)

thanks for reading

love you guys :)

  7. I have heard that Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector or Even Better Skin Tone Corrector works. I have no experience with either of them so I can't say for sure, but Clinique skincare products has always treated me well.

Hope you find something that works for you :)

  9. try la roche posay Mela-D darkspot. it uses japanese kojic acid(comes from mushrooms) and micro exfoliant LHA to gently remove pigmentation. I recommend NOT using anything with hydroquinone because although very effective, it is harmful to the skin after long periods of use.
@katastrophic: the clinique even better is actually not that good because it just scatters the pigmentation. once you stop using this product, the spots will come back. it works while you use it

you are definitely right about wearing a sunscreen.
you should come to my work, since we practically live in the same city, sometimes we have a lady who comes in with a machine that shows you three layers beneath your skin and it shows you what will come in the years to come.....

  11. Maybe you should try Bio-Oil. I've heard lots of good things about it. I use it in winter just to keep my skin moisturised as it gets so dry but it does kelp with scaring and uneven skin tone x

  12. i have the same problem as you. wish I can help you but i dont know any product that remove sun spots. but mine are slowly diminishing because of glycolic peel and just recently I've tried Pixel Laser Skin resurfacing procedure. It really works! I made a review/comparison between the two in my blog..

  16. Clinique's Even Better Clinical is a really good product. It does indeed fade dark spots, then cause them to disappear OVER TIME! I am a Clinique consultant and the biggest thing is that people do not use it long enough. The Even Better Skintone Corrector was recently discontinued in favor of this product and its more powerful ingredients. What it is actually doing is breaking up the darker pigmentation beneath the skin's surface (hence why someone said that it "scatters" the dark spots) until they disappear. Everyone's skin is different, so the length of time for use is all dependent upon each person. You can, however, use it long-term because it is not a prescription and does not contain hydroquinone, or any other prescription ingredients.

  18. @thepastyharlot- I was taught by three of the head trainers for Clinique and this is what they told me. I only stated it because thats what they all told me. I even asked if it will permanently remove them and they said no. :S but i guess everyone experience is different

  19. I would definitely recommend giving Shiseido a try. There is an entire whitening line that helps get rid of sun spots and scaring. I know it is more pricey than some of the other products suggested but worth it. Or you can give some bb creams a try. I know there are a few out there that have whitening effects (check out Lioele, Skinfood, or Missha). All of those products even out your skintone and reduce appearance of scars/sun spots. I hope this helps!
